About Babi Wrobel

Babi Wrobel is an artist, illustrator, author and art teacher.

She has illustrated more than 30 children's books over her 20-year career, two of them also as an author. She has a degree in Illustration from the Pratt Institute in New York and in Graphic Design from PUC in Rio de Janeiro.

Her work has been published in various media such as advertising, books, stamps, murals, magazines, prints, fashion, packaging, among others....
Eventually, she focused her work on children's books, looking for a more authorial career.

In 2013, together with her father, she wrote the book Everybody has left, published by Escrita Fina. In 2014, Itaú Cultural bought 12,000 copies of the book, which were distributed to public libraries across Brazil. In 2023 she published her second book as a writer: Dona Gê- a Leucophaea Maderae, which tells the story of a cockroach that got tired of life in the dark and ran away to live in the daylight of the busy city.

She is also a teacher on the Skillshare platform and gives art classes in her studio in Rio de Janeiro and online.

She likes to work with both digital techniques and traditional materials such as watercolors, pastels and colored pencils, preferably mixing them all at the same time.

She has always loved drawing and creating new stories and imaginary worlds through her drawings.
Her greatest joy as an artist is to inspire people to see the good, magical and playful side of life, whether through images, stories or teaching classes.
